Observation Before Interpretation
The Earth: Day Zero framework separates observation from interpretation. This distinction is essential for evaluating any unconventional planetary reconstruction.
An observation is a feature, measurement, relationship, or constraint that can be examined independently. An interpretation is a proposed explanation for that observation.
The Core Discipline
The framework does not begin by asserting that Antarctica is an entrance domain, the Arctic Circle is an exit domain, or Mauna Kea is a midpoint structure.
It begins by asking what is observable about those domains: scale, position, geometry, reconstruction behavior, geophysical context, and relationship to the Earth–Moon system.
Why The Distinction Matters
If observations and interpretations are combined too early, the model becomes difficult to test. A critic cannot determine whether they are rejecting the evidence, the interpretation, or the larger reconstruction.
Separating the two makes the framework modular. Each claim can be evaluated at the appropriate level.
Observation Classes
Earth: Day Zero organizes observations into several classes:
- geometric observations;
- chronological constraints;
- geophysical signatures;
- energetic requirements;
- Earth–Moon system constraints;
- anomaly classes requiring further testing.
Interpretation As Later Layer
Only after observations are cataloged and constrained does the framework propose possible mechanisms. This prevents the hypothesis from becoming a closed explanatory system.
The model remains strongest when each observation can stand independently before being placed into the larger reconstruction.
