Basin boundaries define where geological systems transition from one structural or depositional domain into another. These transitions are rarely arbitrary; they often reflect inherited structure, deformation history, subsidence patterns, and sediment-routing constraints.

This framework examines basin boundaries using measurable variables including boundary orientation, structural relief, sediment-thickness contrast, fault continuity, margin stability, and basin-to-uplift relationships.

Reference systems include the Permian Basin, Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, Mesopotamian Basin, Levant Basin, Dead Sea Basin, and North Sea Basin.

The objective is to create a repeatable method for comparing basin boundaries across different geological settings without assuming a single origin or mechanism.

Within the ABC Sequencing framework, basin boundaries are evaluated as preserved geometric evidence: not proof of a specific event, but measurable structure that may constrain any larger planetary-scale interpretation.

This approach supports the broader principle that interpretation should follow geometry, and that durable geological boundaries deserve careful analysis before being reduced to local explanations alone.
